It’s Sunday, y’all! That means it is time for another weekly reading roundup!
I had a really good reading week this week, and I am excited to share my thoughts!
None of This is True by Lisa Jewell
Genre(s): Mystery, Thriller
My rating: 4.75 stars
I have extremely mixed feelings on this book. I read it very fast and it left a sinking feeling in my gut the whole time, which is a good thing. I do not necessarily know how to feel about the conversations about grooming in this book. I think it is heavily critiquing it, and the characters who say a minor “seduced” a grown man were folks who seemed to have malintent. Overall, the book was an interesting look into the effects of grooming on adults who are unable to get out of that situation, but I am still pondering my feelings on the book’s content.
The Search for Us by Susan Azim Boyer
Genre(s): Contemporary Fiction, Young Adult
My rating: 4.75 stars
This book was an advanced reader’s copy, and I will be writing a full review over on Write Through the Night, so keep an eye out over there to read my thoughts!
Dead Flip by Sara Farizan
Genre(s): Historical Fiction, Horror, Young Adult
My rating: 4.5 stars
This book was a really fun read. It definitely missed the mark on the scary factor at times, but that is pretty par for the course in young adult horror.
It was definitely easy to get through and very bizarre, and I would definitely recommend it to folks who want a non-gory horror pick. It was incredibly unique, and I look forward to reading the author’s other work.
A Lesson in Vengeance by Victoria Lee
Genre(s): Thriller, Young Adult
My rating: 4.5 stars
This book was so fun and twisty. I love a good dive into teenage girl friendship. This book also had some heavy paranormal influence, and I love a good witchy story, especially because I am so excited for fall to come.
This book is not perfect by any means, and there were parts that felt rushed and not easy to follow, but I would definitely recommend it to fans of paranormal suspense and thrillers!
A Flicker in the Dark by Stacy Willingham
Genre(s): Thriller
My rating: 5 stars
OKAY hear me out: I see the criticism of this book. I agree. AND, I had SUCH a good time reading this book. Sometimes I enjoy a semi predictable thriller. And I picked this up expecting to read maybe 50 pages, and ended up finishing it in one day.
It was fun and fast paced, and I had a really nice time reading it.
What books did you read this week? Let me know in the comments!

I'm constantly impressed by how many books you read! I've really wanted to read A Flicker in the Dark so i'm glad you liked it!
